UN HYBRID MISSION (UNAMID)

problem from further spilling into neighboring Chad and cenral African

the “early and effective implementation” of last year’s
Darfur Peace Agreement between the Government and the rebels

Prevent armed attacks

the security of aid workers and its own personnel and facilities

civilian component, including 700 civilian police personnel

In addition, the Security Council emphasized that there can be no
military solution to the conflict in
Darfur
Therefore, the UN called on the Government of the
Sudan and the rebel groups, specifically the Justice and Equality
Movement and the Sudanese Liberation Army/Movement, to resume the
Abuja talks without preconditions to rapidly reach an agreement.
