DRP, Inc. Water Project

A scarcity of clean water is one of the most dangerous factors in the life of a Darfurian living in the camps. Unsanitary water is not only a chief culprit in the spread of diseases but a major risk factor for women who may fall prey to the Janjaweed as they venture beyond the protected borders of the camp in search of clean drinking water for their families.

DRP has established a fund for the construction of water pumps in the camps with the objective of providing the clean water so critical to their survival. DRP, in partnership with corporate sponsors and foundations, has begun research into the installation of these pumps begining in 2008.
